Epigenetics – “on” or “above” the genes. The relatively new science of epigenetics rewrites the rules of disease, heredity, and identity. Every cell in the body has the same genetic information; what makes cells, tissues and organs different is that different sets of genes are turned on, or expressed. The science of epigenetics has shown that it’s our beliefs that affect genetic activity and determine which part of our genetic code is expressed.
